After months of planning I'm nearly there. It's the end of April 2012, and at the end of May I'm off to walk the Pennine Way ... a lifelong ambition that somehow I'd never got around to doing. All the B&Bs and Youth Hostels are booked, train tickets are bought, rucksack has been packed and repacked, I've been walking the South Downs at least once a week, often 2 or 3 times, to ensure that, at 60, I'm as fit as I can be. The countdown now really begins until 31 May when I jump on the train for Edale.
Plus of course I'm raising money for Help for Heroes, the charity that does a fantastic job for our wounded service personnel, and a charity I thankfully didn't need after my 25 years in the Army. Please see here to donate:
